Introduction
I have used a "semantic" approach to my life since I was 6. I started thinking about cause and effect, interdependency, Rube Goldberg machines, etc. when I was lightly hit by car. That night I had a dream about fishing nets with knots and strings.
What are your thoughts about the Semantic Web? Is it the next Big Thing?
Web 1 is a tricycle. Web 2 (Semantic Web) is a bike with training wheels, Web 3 is a cross-country bike. Web 4 (RO3) is a Harley.
Which new technologies would you like to learn? Have you worked with any "semantic" technologies such as XML, RDF, OWL, GRDDL, or SPARQL?
More on OWL, extended metadata repositories, directed-labeled-graph (DLG) tools working with an underlying massive triple store, NIEM and IEPD, semantic interoperability.
Which applications or web sites will make the Semantic Web a reality in the public eye?
My Relative Omniscience, Omnipotence, and Omnipresence (RO3) tool, for all persons. Call it Web 4.0. I've got the design and have identified technology types capable of enabling it. Who wants to help me build it? Donations/grants/partners?
