Introduction

I'm interested in the intersection of library data and the semantic web. Working on practical applications of things like RDF and linked-data.

What are your thoughts about the Semantic Web? Is it the next Big Thing?

I think the 'semantic web' means different things to different people. I'm personally interested in using the web for publishing data now, and the sorts of things that enables.

Which new technologies would you like to learn? Have you worked with any "semantic" technologies such as XML, RDF, OWL, GRDDL, or SPARQL?

I have worked with those technologies. I'm most interested in ways of leveraging semweb technologies in small practical ways now, rather than waiting for it to happen tomorrow.

Which applications or web sites will make the Semantic Web a reality in the public eye?

I'm not sure the public will ever notice it, but developers ought to be able to integrate disparate datasets better.
