PAWS is putting on Semantic Code Camp, in conjunction with the Semantic Technology Conference

What is a Code Camp? Well, the way we are running it is this - We will have people present Case Studies or Topics that challenge the audience to be innovative or to see how the ideas can be applied in different ways. After the presentation of the topics, attendees can participate in the discussion or find other "birds of a feather" to discuss topics closer to their own hearts. Think of it as semi-structured, not an Unconference, but not a lecture or panel discussion either.

The goal? To bring together people of different industries and disciplines to solve real world problems in innovative ways.

Perks? Yes, of course! SemTech has been very generous with PAWS and given us free reign over the hotel for a few hours, but there is more . . . with your registration for the Semantic Code Camp you also get a free, pre-screened expo pass (they usually screen all requests) and free admission to the Sunday speakers!

The Evolving Semantic Web: From Military Technology to Venture Capital (Mark Greaves, Vulcan Inc.) http://www.semantic-c...

Overall, a very cool freebie for PAWS members, but wait there is more! Anyone who wants to attend a portion of the formal conference (beyond those events mentioned above), may use coupon code ST9B1 and get up to $200 off registration fees! This is in addition to the Early-Bird Special, which is good until May 8th . . . overall that is $300 off!

Registration: Because SemTech is letting us use their facilities, you will need to register with them as well as PAWS. But no worries, we have our own, special portal to do so click here!

Topics:
Semantic Technology in Business? - Marc Hadfield Alitora Systems and Daniela Barbosa from DowJones

Entertainment and Semantics/Birds of a Feather

Semantic Technology and Open Source: What is out there and how can it help me? - Dave Beckett from Yahoo and Jamie Taylor, Metaweb!

I'd be interested to hear what happened at the flex/UI discussion BOF spun out of the open source code camp.

Do I have to register with SemTech using the "click here" link? I clicked and it took me to a page where payment is required. ????
