Sergey, Marco, Fellow NYSWers,
Wow!! Talk about an industry ripe for introduction of semantic representation, and management; involving RDF, OWL, et al! The current game environment is totally distributed, and if a bit of extrapolation is applied, one can conceive of rich user interface extensions where NLP (speech recognition, language translation) and user motion (Nintendo Wii) recognition, game rule representation and meaning, game machine logic definition (, etc.), involving command identification, interpretation, (and the like) becomes the semantic means-to-the-end in a globally connected, language independent, gaming environment.
Cheers,
Doug

Hi Sergey, Gene recommended the talk to me yesterday at the Domain Driven Design event and he asked me regards posting it here to the group. As I wrote my Master's Thesis about the algorithmic foundations of photo realistic computer graphics I have a personal interest in the subject but the event does not have immediate relevance to the Semantic Web.
That said, I actually have an idea that would create a very strong relevance to modeling of intelligent objects for 3 dimensional computer graphics with Semantic Web technologies. It's to early speak about it here in detail but I see an enormous potential for meaningful modeling in engineering and science.
Sorry for the mental stretch here and thanks for asking. Best, Marco On Fri, Jul 11, 2008 at 4:58 PM, Sergey Chernyshev < meetup.com@ antispam.sergeychernyshev.com> wrote:
Is there going to be any talk about Semantic Web technologies or business at this event? Maybe game AI is using RDF for rule specifications?
Otherwise I don't see how is this connected to SemWeb meetup (or is it just because it's also in NY?).

Dear semweb-25 members,
Game developers and anyone interested in 3D animation will want to hear this
talk about Actor Machine's tools (http://actormachine.com). The principals
of this company are world class software technologists.

Hey all,
I'll be talking both on the tech and the biz/entrepreneurial side.
It's scheduled for 7/21. If you can make it, that'd be great.
Here's the info:

Spread the word... to whomever you think would be interested.
